Steuerboard Secures €725k to Transform Tax Advisory Workflows with AI
German B2B SaaS startup Steuerboard, based in Düsseldorf, has raised €725,000 in a pre-seed round led by High-Tech Gründerfonds (HTGF), with support from SuperAngels Fund and serial entrepreneur Roland Fassauer. The funding aims to accelerate the development of Steuerboard’s AI-native platform and expand its presence across the DACH region.
Founded in 2023 by Matyas Heins and Jakob Brandt, Steuerboard was built to eliminate inefficient email back-and-forth — or “email ping-pong” — within tax advisory firms. Its platform integrates with existing tax systems and introduces AI-powered automation to streamline workflows, handle repetitive tasks, and improve client communication transparency.
“This investment will enable us to deliver intelligent automations at scale and eliminate one of the most painful inefficiencies in the tax industry,” said co-founder Matyas Heins.
The European tax software market was valued at €4.34 billion in 2023, with Germany alone accounting for nearly 30% of that — a €1.3 billion opportunity. Steuerboard has already signed up nearly 100 tax offices, including large multi-office firms and boutique practices, supporting thousands of businesses monthly.
HTGF Principal Christian Arndt noted: “Steuerboard’s AI-first approach directly addresses labor shortages in the sector. Its centralized data and workflow automation will redefine how tax firms operate.”
With the new capital, Steuerboard plans to expand its engineering and customer success teams, enhance its agentic AI workflows, and increase market reach. Over the next two years, the startup aims to lead the shift toward intelligent, proactive automation in tax advisory services across Europe.
