Nothing’s New Phone 3 Will Be Available for General Sale in the US

Smartphone startup Nothing is set to launch its next flagship model, the Nothing Phone (3), in the U.S. through its official website and Amazon, TechCrunch has learned. The company will unveil the new phone early next month in London. Since its inception in 2020, Nothing has released eight phones, but only one — the Phone (2) — has reached general sale in the U.S. Prior to that, users had to buy devices via beta programs, with no after-sales support — though refunds were possible within 14 days.

“We have always said we are building for the long term, and now we’re ready to take that next step in the U.S. Phone (3) is not just another launch. It is a signal of where we are as a company. The smartphone market in the U.S. is dominated by two players, but a lot of people are hungry for something different.”

    Key Features and Market Strategy

“We have already seen strong conversion rates from users switching to Nothing, and with Phone (3), we are going after that opportunity in a much more focused way. This is the right product, and the right moment, to start scaling in North America.”

Pei believes that Nothing’s focus on unique design will appeal to users seeking alternatives to Apple, Samsung, and Google.

The Phone (3) supports AT&T and T-Mobile with full 4G and 5G band coverage — a big leap from the limited compatibility seen in earlier models like the Phone (2a) and Phone (1). In Canada, the company is partnering with Best Buy to distribute both the Phone (3) and its new over-ear Headphone (1) in physical stores for the first time.

“The Phone (3) will feature premium materials, major performance upgrades, and software that really levels things up.”

The device is expected to be priced around £800 (~$1,000 USD), putting it head-to-head with the iPhone 16 Pro and Samsung Galaxy S25+.

Despite the challenge of entering a market dominated by two tech giants, Nothing remains confident. Research from Counterpoint estimates that the company’s shipments in 2024 were in the low-single-digit millions — with India as its biggest market. Still, analysts note that while Motorola and Google are slowly gaining ground in the U.S. premium segment, Nothing faces an uphill battle.
