A Busan homicide detective investigates the death of a man who fell from a mountain. The victim’s widow, Seo-rae — a recent Chinese immigrant — is his only suspect, and she may have done it. He follows her. She knows he is following her. They begin a kind of relationship that exists only in the act of investigation itself. Park’s thriller is a love story about two people who cannot afford to admit they have one.
