Applied Intuition Hits $15B Valuation After $600M Funding Round

Applied Intuition, a rising force in autonomous vehicle software, has successfully closed a $600 million Series F funding round and tender offer, boosting its valuation to an impressive $15 billion. This comes just a year after the company’s $250 million Series E round, which previously valued it at $6 billion.

The latest round was co-led by BlackRock-managed funds and Kleiner Perkins, with participation from major global investors including the Qatar Investment Authority, Abu Dhabi Investment Council, Greycroft, and others. Notably, returning backers like General Catalyst, Lux Capital, Elad Gil, and Bond, the growth fund led by Mary Meeker, also took part.

Applied Intuition is best known for providing simulation software, development tools, and data infrastructure for companies building autonomous vehicles. It works with a broad range of clients — including major automakers, as well as autonomous trucking startups like Gatik and Kodiak.

CEO Qasar Younis explained in a previous interview that the goal is to be top-of-mind for any company grappling with software or AI problems. “When they think like, ‘I have this software or AI problem,’ we generally want them to think about us,” Younis told TechCrunch.

Defense Applications Drive Growth

While Applied Intuition continues to support commercial clients, the company is now making significant inroads into the defense sector. In its newsletter accompanying the funding announcement, the company revealed its collaboration with the U.S. Army to automate military vehicles.

In one standout case, Applied Intuition managed to convert a basic infantry squad vehicle into a fully autonomous machine — in just 10 days. This effort included the creation of a pedal-pushing robot capable of manually operating the vehicle’s steering, throttle, and brakes — showcasing the flexibility and speed of Applied Intuition’s tech.

This defense-oriented pivot aligns with a broader trend of AI companies working with national defense agencies as militaries seek more agile, tech-enabled solutions. Applied’s demonstrated ability to rapidly deploy autonomous capabilities could position it as a key player in future military modernization efforts.

With new capital and strategic interest from both private and sovereign investors, Applied Intuition is well-positioned to scale its influence across automotive, commercial, and defense sectors alike.
