What actually changes

Bento, the grid-style link-in-bio builder, shut down on February 13, 2026, after being acquired by Linktree, according to the sunset notice published on the Bento site. Bento addresses now redirect to Linktree. The notice said user and profile data would be deleted after the shutdown, so anyone who did not export before that date no longer has a copy to import from.

What Bento and Linktree said

The notice told users to export what they wanted to keep before the deadline. It said users would receive an email with migration instructions and a special Linktree Pro offer, and that Linktree had been adding features inspired by Bento’s visual layouts, content blocks and media embeds. Support addresses were given for both products. The notice does not state the terms of the Pro offer, and none are repeated here.

Linktree plans and prices

Linktree prices by region and states that figures are shown in local currency. The figures on its pricing page, which appeared in Canadian dollars when it was loaded, were as follows. USD figures were not available on the page when checked, so they are omitted.

  • Free: $0. Unlimited basic links and email and phone sign-ups, described as free with restrictions.
  • Starter: C$7.50 per month billed annually, or C$10 billed monthly. Adds a personalized Linktree, unlimited featured links and basic analytics.
  • Pro: C$13.50 per month billed annually, or C$17 monthly. Adds removal of Linktree branding, custom designs, selling with 0% fees and mailing list integrations. A seven-day trial is offered.
  • Premium: C$33.50 per month billed annually, or C$39 monthly. Adds link rules and routing, AI integrations, all-time analytics, data export, social media scheduling and Instagram auto-replies, with the same trial.

An Agency or Enterprise option with team seats and custom contracts is quoted on request. Linktree notes that transaction and processing fees may apply to selling, and states a charge of USD 0.25 per payout. Its help center describes extended analytics windows of 90 days on Starter, 365 days on Pro and lifetime on Premium.

What changes for a Bento user

Linktree says it has built layout, block and embed features with Bento in mind, so the general idea of a visual, block-based page carries over. What the sources do not establish is how closely Linktree reproduces Bento’s grid, so it is sensible to build a trial page before moving a public profile. The most direct difference is where design control sits: on Linktree, custom designs and removal of Linktree branding start at Pro, while the Free plan carries restrictions.

The trade-offs

Linktree is a paid product at the tiers that matter for appearance. Anyone who used Bento mainly for a free, minimal grid page faces a monthly or annual fee to remove branding and customize design, or must accept Free-tier limits. Linktree also lists many features aimed at selling, analytics and marketing that a simple personal page may never use.

Migration is another limit. Exports had to be made before February 13, and the notice describes deleted data as gone. Content that was exported has to be rebuilt by hand or adapted into Linktree’s blocks, since the sources describe an export of content but no one-click importer. The Pro offer in the migration email may soften the first-year cost but is not documented publicly.

Finally, this is a closed loop. Linktree acquired Bento and later closed it. Users who prefer to avoid depending on one vendor for a link page should keep a plain copy of their content and links regardless of where it is published.

Prices were read off the vendors' own pricing pages by hand and last checked Oct 4, 2026. Vendors move them without notice, so check before you commit.
