BET+ was a subscription streaming service built around Black films, series and stand-up comedy. In March 2026, Paramount Skydance announced that it would buy the stake in BET+ held by Tyler Perry Studios and fold the service into Paramount+. According to Paramount+’s own guide, published on 1 June 2026, the BET+ service was to be discontinued in June 2026, with its titles moving to Paramount+.
The sources do not agree on one closing day, so this page gives the month where the day is disputed. Paramount+ states that BET+ would be discontinued in June 2026 and that the content would live on Paramount+. Yahoo Entertainment reported a phased closure beginning in June and expected to finish by mid-August 2026. Wikipedia’s BET+ entry lists 23 June 2026 and 22 July 2026 in different places, and neither date carries a citation there. CBR, summarising Paramount’s shareholder letter of 4 August 2026, reports that BET+ was fully integrated into Paramount+ during the second quarter. Taken together, June 2026 is the best-supported month for the move, and the exact final day for individual accounts is not established in public sources. Anyone with a billing question should check the account email or the app store, website or TV provider where the subscription was bought.
Paramount+ says more than 1,000 hours of BET+ programming are streaming on its service, including The Ms. Pat Show, Diarra From Detroit, Average Joe, Tyler Perry’s Divorced Sistas and Tyler Perry’s Zatima. Titles moved subject to rights restrictions and license expirations, so the catalogue is not guaranteed to be identical. New seasons of former BET+ shows are meant to premiere on Paramount+, and viewers can find them in the BET collection or by searching for a title. The BET cable channel, BET Studios and BET Digital were reported by The Desk to remain active. Only the paid BET+ streaming app was retired. Accounts did not carry over: Paramount+ states that a BET+ subscription will not transfer automatically, so continuing to watch requires a Paramount+ subscription of its own.
Paramount+ lists US prices, plus applicable taxes, as of its 1 June 2026 guide. Essential costs $8.99 a month or $89.99 a year, includes ads, and lists 40,000 episodes and movies, select Showtime titles, and live sports such as UFC, the UEFA Champions League and NFL on CBS games. It does not include a local live CBS station. Premium costs $13.99 a month or $139.99 a year, has no ads on on-demand content, and adds the local live CBS station and all Showtime shows and movies. Live TV on Premium still carries ads. Both plans include every BET and BET+ title on the service. For comparison, The Desk reported in March 2026 that BET+ cost $5.99 a month with ads and $9.99 without.
The main cost is price and scope. The cheapest Paramount+ plan costs $3.00 a month more than the ad-supported BET+ tier did, and the ad-free Premium plan costs more than BET+ without ads did. Viewers who only followed BET originals are now paying for a general service with CBS, Showtime and live sports they may never open. In return, they get one subscription with a far larger library, and the BET shows keep getting new seasons there. Watch history and saved lists should not be assumed to carry over, and the BET material is now a collection inside a bigger app rather than a product on its own.
