Trakt covers the core of what TV Time did. Check in to episodes and movies as you watch, follow a personalized calendar of what’s airing next, follow friends and see what they’re watching, and get recommendations from your history. Sync with Plex, Kodi, Emby and other media centers happens automatically once it’s set up, so tracking mostly takes care of itself. Trakt’s own app-store listing confirms it imports metadata from TV Time directly, alongside IMDb, Plex and Letterboxd, so your show history doesn’t have to be rebuilt title by title.
TV Time’s social feed — the GIF reactions and comments landing the second an episode ends — doesn’t really exist on Trakt, which is a quieter, more utilitarian tool built around syncing and stats rather than chatter. Trakt’s free tier is capped, too: All-Time Stats, Year in Review and unlimited custom lists all sit behind Trakt VIP, while a competitor like Simkl gives lifetime stats away for free.
